Who I am
Leo Remande, a self-employed maths tutor based in Cardiff. I'm responsible for the personal information you give me. Contact: hello@mathswithleo.co.uk.
What I collect
When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address, the student's level and anything you tell me in your message. If lessons go ahead, I may also keep the student's first name, school year, exam board, lesson notes, and payment records.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange lessons (taking steps at your request before a contract).
- To deliver and plan lessons and keep parents updated (performing our agreement).
- To keep basic financial records, as required by HMRC (legal obligation).
I never sell your details or use them for marketing.
Children's information
For students under 18, I deal with a parent or guardian, and I only collect what's needed to teach. Lessons are not recorded without written permission from a parent or guardian.
Who else sees it
Messages from the contact form are delivered through Formspree, a form-handling service, and then to my email. Online lessons use [e.g. Google Meet / Zoom and an online whiteboard]. The contact form is protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks the visitor's browser without setting tracking cookies. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, and Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies or personal profiles. These providers only process data to provide their service.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to lessons are deleted within 6 months. Lesson notes are deleted within 12 months of the last lesson. Payment records are kept for 6 years for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to how I use it, by emailing me. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
